- After I register a domain how long before I can use it?
- New domains and changes to domains may take up to 4-8 hours for .COM and .NET domains and about 24-48 hours for all other domain extensions to become effective. This is due to the number of networks involved, and the fact that those networks are controlled by several different agencies. This delay applies to all domains and all Registrars. Please allow for this delay when planning Web sites or configuring a domain to work with your email.
- What rules are there for registration of a domain name?
- Domain names must be a minimum of two letters long. (Some countries require more)
- Domain names can contain numbers, letters, and hyphens.
- Domain names cannot start or end with a hyphen.
- Are there any domain names that are illegal?

- Cybersquatting. Buying a domain name for the purpose of selling it to a big name company. (Ex. If you obtain kmart.com and try to sell it to them for a huge profit.)
- Registration of a domain name that someone else already has a trademark to or when someone registers a domain name of your trademark name is a gray area of the law. Lawsuits may develop in this area.

- Yes, recently business.com was sold for $150,000.

- What would a good domain name be?
- Short and sweet.
